Title: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Jonah on August 30, 2005, 02:25:24 pm RSGallery2 2.0 is going to rock and we know your going to migrate away from that horrible gallery solution your currently using. There will be a few options for migration scripts.
What we want to know is: what gallery solution will you be migrating away from? Please post the name, version and support website of the gallery. We\'ll collect answers here, then turn the results into a poll on the frontpage and let people vote. The most popular ones will hopefully end up with a migration script. So if you see a post with someone mentioning the gallery your using, wait for the poll instead of adding a \"me too\". :-) Thanks! Jonah Title: Re:what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Dianoga on August 31, 2005, 10:13:53 am Coppermine...slightly older version. Can\'t remember the version number though.

which is working great for me, with some improvments and modifications :) but hey not everything is perfect. Title: Re:what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Evan on September 08, 2005, 02:10:00 pm I just started with Mambo, and am currently using zOOm gallery on the site I\'m currently building. I do have another site that I\'d like to \"convert\" to a Mambo site, and it is using Gallery currently. Looking forward to checking out RSGallery!
Title: Re:what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: javalamp on October 11, 2005, 03:23:14 am I\'d be keen to Migrate from AkoGallery V2.1 beta 2 - it\'s already patched for Mambo 4.5.x, so I\'m not sure how much longer it will survive. I have 2 artists using it, so need a painless migration path if possible.
Cheers Title: Re:what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: twitch on October 17, 2005, 04:58:05 pm I use Gallery v1.5.1-RC2-cvs-b2 and plan to use joomla fo rmy site and need a new gallery for it. The gallery is the main reason for my site.

Title: Re:what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: jxl on January 21, 2006, 08:18:20 pm Zoom 2.5. I\'m not sure if I need a migration script or not though since I\'m not sure I can Keep the Zoom gallery during the migration from Mambo to Joomla to begin with. I plan to try it out in the next few days.

Title: Re:what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Not ready on August 11, 2006, 11:42:57 pm I\'m migrating away from RS2gallery...its less intuitive than I expected and too time consuming. I imagine it works well if you have few photos.
Thanks and good luck. Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: peetree21 on October 09, 2006, 10:49:35 pm I am wanting to migrate my zoom gallery. RSGallery2 seems alot more stable and organised in their development. I just seem to never manage to get my zoom gallery working properly even 'out of the box', yet with rsgallery2 works great. i think i may have to wait for the ACL in rsgallery to be developed though.
However, is there a way to migrate my zoom gallery to rsgallery2 yet? Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: adkcomputerguy on November 20, 2006, 11:13:02 am Pony Gallery

Post by: Serkan on February 23, 2007, 02:21:36 am I'm not sure whether it still makes sense to answer this, but I want to migrate from Pony Gallery ML 2.0.0 when RSGallery2 2.0 is ready.

There is zoom migration but it doesn't work with the latest version. It needs to be updated. So the next time one of the devs has time to work on it... :) It will be that Pony that will be implemented. Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? So the next time one of the devs has time to work on it... :) It will be that Pony that will be implemented. I migrated from zoom and I was wondering why the migration option wasnt working, lol. Honestly the only feature I miss from zoom is the ability to upload video as well as pics but IMO rsgallery has everything else beat. It's cleaner in terms of the script and the design, it's fast and stable, and it's more user friendly. If in a future release it supports video as well I will be very happy :D. Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Daniel Tulp on April 29, 2007, 10:00:53 am this is on our todo list, but I don't believe it will happen very soon, so you'll have to be patient
Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Aare on May 29, 2007, 06:58:59 am From Zoom Gallery, Version 2.5.1 RC4
Not decided yet, had also a few errors in RS gallery, depends on the final versions Greetings Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: REXXENEXX on January 27, 2008, 04:51:12 pm I will be migrating from Gallery2 (I already did). It's way too bulky and doesn't integrate as clean as I would like it to. RSG2 is looking more straightforward and once all the CSS and other minor bugs are ironed out it should be a solid, easy to use, low-maintenance gallery.

Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Jon on February 25, 2008, 11:17:19 pm At times I'll still use Simple Image Gallery PRO. I'm looking for a user gallery, though, and RSgallery2 looks more promising.
Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: river on February 28, 2008, 07:59:18 pm I've moved from gallery2, I couldn't get it to do what I wanted in a joomla site.
Title: Re: what gallery will you be migrating away from? Post by: Dennis on October 28, 2008, 01:57:26 pm I would like to move away from Coppermine (its too slow) and I like the interface that RSGallery provides for the user to browse or upload images. I just wish the Search on my Joomla 1.5 site would also search RSGallery. That is my biggest bummer besides not using JomComment/Rating system which is what is used for my entire site (like one thing for the whole site to include searching and commenting).
