I've installed the searchbot and published it but the search doesn't work very well.  It seems like it only returns searches that have the search word in the file name.  I was hoping it would return a link to the gallery if the search word was in the gallery name or description.

Is there something wrong with what I am doing?

Does anyone else see this same problem or have found a fix or setting problem?

Is there any comment on this?  It looks like a ton of people are looking at this thread so others must be searching for a solution also.

Thanks Grin

right im pretty sure the search mambot doesnt currently search the gallery names. only description of images and the name of them. i may be incorrect but thats how it seems to function on my site.

if you look into the search mambot code i would have thought you can change it/add to it so that it searches the gallery names database  aswell and shows those results.

Yup, it needs to be fixed.  The new one should tie into the search widget that Ronald coded for the main component (the one at the top of the screen in recent releases.

Due to time constraints, I have taken a step back from RSGallery2.  In the event of an emergency, you will need to PM me.

ok you have the latest version i.e the one with a small search box top right?

you need to be a bit more clear.
when you use the inbuilt search no results are displayed or is there an error message?

the same for when you use the joomla search? (and have you made sure you have published the search mambot so it is in use and not just installed?)

could you provide a link to the gallery?

you can see it at http://www.spechouse.eyeris.co.za/index.php?option=com_rsgallery2&Itemid=29
it's a bit of a design mess right now but the component should work.

I'm running: Joomla! 1.0.14 Stable  and have installed: rsgallery2_searchbot_0.9.3.zip (downloaded from this site this morning, is actually the latest) and com_rsgallery2_legacy_1.14.3.zip

yes everything is published.
I am now trying Gallery2 Bridge (RSGallery wasn't working before it) and their search is working. but I would rather use RSGallery.

everything seems to be working to me. typing in 'house5' in both searches returns the correct result.  also typing 'phase3' returns the right results. typing in gallery/album titles doesnt but i dont think this was ever a feature of the searches. i may be wrong.

i have gallery2 bridge currently on my site and am in the process of developing and converting to rsgallery2. gallery2 bridge runs incredibly sluggish seeing as it is a bridge and doesnt really tie in with site. i personally would stick to rsgallery however i suppose it depends what you are doing.

I see... it only searches thought picture's name and descriptions. Sorry my bad.
I really need to search through the albums' names and descriptions also.
Any suggestions on what to add in the code?
