How to get rid of label "new"

Hi,
I've just updated my gallery from 1.13.2 to 1.14.0 and everything went fine except one problem: Now I have label "new" on all my categories, even the old ones. How can I get rid of it? How long the label usually stays there?

I want it turned back ON!
I don't know were i turned it off.
It doe snot come back anymore with new images.

So if your question is answered so will be mine.

I did manage to do this by editing one of the template files. I was never able to find a setting that handled this. It was a while ago...and I'd be happy to try to remember what exactly I removed in order to do this if you still need assistance.
