Hi,

I tried to enable permissions according to the online guide, but when i create a new gallery i get a "_RSGALLERY_GAL_NO_PERM_FOUND" message instead of the permission checkboxes.
Help would be very much appreciated.

I am getting the same error with a fresh install of rsgallery2_2.0.0b1 ... all I need to do now is setup some permissions on certain galleries, so if someone can tell me what I need to do get this in there, it would be appreciated...

Create & save gallery first. Then, go to edit the gallery. Permission options should be there.

That worked a peach, thanks!

I don't suppose there's a way to assign a gallery to a specific user is there?

There is.

Make sure the gallery is owned by that user and then turn off all other privs in the gallery priv pane so that only view gallery is checked for public and registered.

Where the defaults for these perms are is anybody's guess, but I'm looking for the file now.

well the idea is that the administrator will create the gallery then give specific permission to a user so that they can view the gallery .. if I check "view gallery" on public and registered, won't that mean that everyone will be able to view the gallery?

It's a pity that messages such as _RSGALLERY_GAL_NO_PERM_FOUND are there in the code.
They look like someone is planning a language file but it has not been implemented yet. These messages are peppered all over the place in both the front and admin. One has to be careful to find them and either define them all in an include or replace the text. All of this interferes with upgrades of course.

Sorry, misunderstood the question.

There does not appear to be a way to do that. Zoom Gallery used to be able to do this but it was a pain in many ways. ANyway that project is dead. JoomGallery might do it but I don't know.

I Chose RSG2 for the moment because it seems to run OK in native mode, but I am having difficulty with issues like this one where I want users to be able to manage and create their own galleries without a lot of nonsense.

My luck has been moderate.
