I looked through the code and the main intialization file (administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/init.rsgallery2.php) seems incomplete.  Notice it doesn't contain a php closing tag (?>), which seems highly irregular.  Additionally, tracing through the code there doesn't seem to be any function that is called to actually begin rendering the frontend component.  I checked the original zip download and the file is the same so it wasn't corrupted during installation.  Does anyone have a different init.rsgallery2.php file?
