Can't save configuration settings - J1.5.7 and any version of RSG2

I have found a couple other places on the forum where people have reported this problem, but no solution that seems appropriate for me, so forgive me if I've missed it- I have looked! I have a site built on Joomla 1.5.7 in legacy mode, and I've tried both 2.0.0b1 and legacy 1.14.3 versions of RSG2, in both instances I'm unable to save the back end configuration of the component.

After a save attempt, the browser reflects this link: http://mysite.com/administrator/index2.php?option=com_rsgallery2&rsgOption=config&task=showConfig#

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

turn on php error reporting and see what the error is, or try running in joomla debug mode. I've had the exact thing happen, and can't think how I fixed it. It'll hit me soon, cause it drove me crazy, think was a joomla problem, other components had problems too, not just rsg
