Greetings,

I have set up a local copy of a Joomla 1.0.12 website which has RSG2 1.14.3 (SVN 649) installed in order to update Joomla! to 1.0.15 and to update some other components locally before updating the live site (better safe than sorry).

While testing all front/back end functions to insure that I have everything set up properly to run locally I discovered an odd quirk. Everything works (front end and back) unless I choose "Manage Galleries" (from menu, icon, whatever, in admin) and then there is nothing. There is nothing but a blank page below the breadcrumbs (WEBSITE_NAME / RSGallery2 / galleries) and no options for publish, unpublish, etc...

The only thing I have changed from the live site is the configuration.php file in order to reflect the local settings (so the site works). Now before someone asks, no, I am not using IE. I'm using Firefox v3.0.3 but that doesn't seem to be the problem anyway since the live site is functioning perfectly.

Question: What could this be, and what can I change (and where) in order to affect a repair?

Yes, I can manage items and everything else works just fine - save for the blank screen on manage galleries. I could upload a screen shot, but there's nothing to see! lol

I just updated to 1.0.15 locally (part of the reason I made the local copy), and it's still blank. I'm a bit nervous about trying the pre-release of RSG2 1.14.4 since the end target is a live site and I'd like to have a local copy that is as identical to the live version as possible.

I'd PREFER to have everything working locally before I upgrade the live site (or at least to understand WHY this is only occurring locally, in case I have to tweak or restore the live site after I make all the upgrades I need to) but I'm running out of time to perform the updates so I may just have to proceed (since RSG2 is functioning flawlessly on the live site).

Is there separate config information for RSG2 that I might have to change? (such as having to change the configuration.php file to get Joomla to operate properly when it's moved?) I may be grasping at straws here, but it's just disconcerting...and damned weird.

Color me confused.

I have now had the same difficulty with another component, so I'm thinking that this is a problem with my local LAMP setup (although I've never had any problem with it before) because I uploaded yet another copy of the site and db to another host I use for testing and I can't reproduce the problem. At least it's definitely not an RSG2 problem. Still not "SOLVED", but this is most likely no longer the appropriate forum to post on.
