"New!" ...could we make this a little more optional?
I'm inserting stuff from years back and having this flag
"New!" shouting from the hilltops is faintly incongruous.
Frankly it's pathetic. Believe me. Stuff from 2003 is not
new. I've disabled its entry in the language lookup file
(for the moment) by just simply deleting it ie "". Perhaps
some thought could go into making its onset more by
selection than, presumably, meaning 'a new file upload'.
How long does the "New!" onslaught last and is that
period programmable too?
----best wishes, Robert

hmm, I guess some configuration options couldn't hurt here, you are right
I believe it lasts for a week, and it is most convenient at this time for user uploads, but when someone doesn't have this, other options should be available, I'll discuss with the other devs

Further... with much to display I find that the dedication
of this "New!" to a WHOLE horizontal line is somewhat
excessive. It should be a tiny flag after the title and
z_layered over the top so that other text does not
have to flow around it. Alternatively this announcement
could be accomplished by a straightforward CSS clause
to put the title text into italics and/or coloured differently.
My server site is mine and shows only my stuff so user
tweaks are meaningless here... it's just me and all
the machines Jonah;~)

Re: "New!" ...could we make this a little more optional?
I agree. An option for "New" as well as photo/gallery "Owner," "Date," and the other option on the standard template ought to be optional. I removed those features from the attached file from version 1.13.1 (SVN: 41). I should note that Macromedia Dreamweaver added a blank line between each line of code on this file that I have not entirely removed. It works, though.
This file goes into /components/com_rsgallery2/templates/tables/. Back up your original before installing it.

Re: "New!" ...could we make this a little more optional?
Thank you Fidel
This is exact what i needed, just bevore i wrote an bug report...
I agree with Piran and Daniel, options to disable infos that might not neccessary for photographic sites are allways great.
Thanxs for your work
