multiple instances.
I want to run multiple instances of the RS Gallery component on my site. I need to have two separate instances of the RS Gallery component. Two separate galleries with two separate main menu pages with the ability to have each instance with sub categories. Is there a possible way to do any of this?
Thanks,
Tommy

Re:multiple instances.
Two seperate instances are only possible if you change the install routine of rsgallery2. This is a custom hack. I don\'t think we will be implementing this feature soon, as it is not a common request.

How might one go about changing the install routine? Is it terribly difficult to do?

Re:multiple instances.
just replace every reference to the directory that is created (in xml file change the name of the component)
in install.rsgallery2.php and uninstall.rsgallery2.php change all references to the database tables
as far as I know, that should do it

Re:multiple instances.
ya it should work, you\'ll need to replace table and file names in every file however.
it may be simpler to just link to two different galleries from your menu rather than the main RSG2. this will accomplish similar to what you are looking for.

Re:multiple instances.
That is how I have it, but what I don\'t like about that is that I link to the main menu for one where I have two subcategories. Then I link to the third subcategory for the other. My problem is that when I link to the main rsgallery page, I have that third gallery showing when I don\'t want it there. THen When you click on th menu link to goto the third subgallery that I want separated out, you then have a link at the top that sends you to the main gallery. It kind of makes the site look less professional. Just my opinion. It would be nice to have an easy way to run 2 instances.
