1  RSgallery2 support forums / RSgallery2 bugs & problems / MESSAGE: Comment could not be added! on: June 03, 2008, 07:44:04 PM
Joomla 1.5.2, RSGallery2 1.14.0 Alpha - SVN 378.

Has anyone experienced the below message when trying to post a comment?

Message
  • Comment could not be added!

Several people, that are logged in, have gotten this message from time to time. I tested it again today and noticed while logged in that I was able to post a comment, then on another picture tried to post a comment and got the above warning message. A few moments later on the same picture I tried again and WAS ABLE to post a picture.

What causes this message to come up? Looking for a way to fix.

Thanks!!

I subscribed to their service because I wanted that template and its modules for my family site. To be honest its a bit buggy. I have been very vocal if you will on their support forum during the last 4-5 weeks trying to get issues resolved and fixes to bugs. I might not have done it at first if I knew I was goingto jumo through the hoops I did to finally get it to a working point. It looks pretty good for RS GALLERY but its their version and you cant upgrade RS or you lose support. Its completly their hands on it. Support has not been super fast but its getting better.

When all is said and done, for a family site, I'm happy enough but it wasnt an easy path.

I don't get it good people. WHERE ARE THE TABS AND PRETTY LINKS?

I've turned off COMMENTS, EXIF, etc so that it doesnt show an ugly plain text option. Is this due perhaps to me running in legacy mode in 1.5.1? Sure would like to learn how to get the same look as shown in the original example above.

HELP!  Huh

We need an update to the breadcrumbs issue.

PLUS, there seems to be an issue with my site that I see works fine on the demo site here.

For example, if I am looking at the image bee_6_bg_042404 the breadcrumb below works if I want to go back to the MACRO gallery. The word MACRO below is a hyperlink.

Home > Gallery Demo > Macro > bee_6_bg_042404

On my install:

Joomla 1.5.1
RSGallery 1.14.3 (SVN 649)

I'll have something like this I have been testing out:

Home  > RSGallery2 > Easter Egg Hunt 2008

I'm looking at the image DSC_0690 but now I want to go back to THE ROOT with all the thumbnails called "Easter Egg Hunt 2008" but thats not hyperlinked. I need to click on RSGallery2 link then find my gallery, and thats tedious.

SUGGESTIONS, FIXES, RESOLUTION? Thanks!

Thanks for the hellp, this is what I needed to read and got it working.

I just uploaded 30 pics. It all went fine, they were between 2-4 mb each.

Did get an error in case someone needs to know. Im using joomla 1.5.1 and RSGallery2 1.14.3 Alpha - SVN 649.

After the upload on the second page where all 30 pics were displayed I got this message at the top:

Warning: getimagesize(/usr/home/MEUSERID/public_html/joomla15/media/rsginstall_47e7a930f0f42/Array) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/MEUSERID/public_html/joomla15/administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/includes/file.utils.php on line 311

Thank You I will try this.

The effect I am looking for is to break up the types of pictures.

Something like, a section for

KIDS
CARS
AIRPLANES

...and then put a subgallery inside each of those galleries. I just didnt want every sub gallery listed from the front page of the root gallery.

If there is a more effective way to do what I want please share it. Otherwise I will try the code hack. Thanks!

Sad Is there a way to hide the list of Subgalleries when looking at the page with available galleries? If I make a gallery that has 30 galleries in it I would rather have them click that gallery and look for the gallery they want from there and not clutter up the first main page.

Im running joomla 1.5.1 and RSGallery2 1.14.3 Alpha - SVN 649. I noticed my template doesnt look the same. Click this link: CLICK HERE I have text links for the number of pictures in a gallery and just TEXT for description, voting, comments, but not the graphical tabs as seen on the online demo. What gives and how do I get it to work that way?

Thats what I am saying. I find it amazing the lack of templates! Granted Ill be happy with it working well, but the templates scene is shocking!
