coz file extension automaticly replaced with *.jpg extension, and animation can't be play properly

how to Change the number in the Drop Down Menu "backend"? (5,10,15,20,50)
all i want is 3 categories only in front page, and show button next and previous?
coz every categories have 100 pictures, and it make slow

my question is how to change parameter "number of galleries on frontpage" in dropdown backend (<5) ? coz i've load many picture every categories ,thank u
