Hello.

First, lets just state this... I'm a new user of Joomla and am beginning to research and learn about this system.

OK, now that I got that out of the way!  I just installed RSGallery2  1.14.3 this evening on a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.1 and I get the following error when uploading anything at all, batch or normal method.

Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatetruecolor() in /tmp/disk/home/USERNAME/Files/WWW/administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/includes/img.utils.php on line 538

Has anyone experienced this or can you point me in the right direction to resolve it?  I didn't see any existing posts for this error, but saw a few that contain "imagecreatetruecolor()", but they were related to memory issues.

I too get a fatal error message when trying to upload the RSGallery2 zip.
I have lagacy enable but have tried with it enabled and disabled but I have to have legacy enabled for Community Builder to work. I have this same question open on Joomla forums but without a successful answer. A solution to this would be fantastic as I have two sites waiting to be migrated to 1.5 Joomla but I can't until certain extensions work with it. Sad

FYI:
the error I get is this:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /share/storage/01/fr/frizzell/nmids/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 318

The .../nmids/... being the directory where this version of Joomla 1.5.1 is.

Just installed the nightly build SVN720 and it uploaded fine and uploaded images to it from the backend. However, Menu link to front end comes up with a template error (Error 404) Error message is

HTTP/1.1 Template tables does not exist.
Please select an existing template in the Template Manager. Date: Fri, 21 Mar 2008 16:07:12 GMT Server: Apache X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.10 P3P: CP="NOI ADM DEV PSAi COM NAV OUR OTRo STP IND DEM" Expires: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 00:00:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Pragma: no-cache Last-Modified: Fri, 21 Mar 2008 16:07:17 GMT Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Transfer-Encoding: chunked Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 608

Previous SVN tried was 720 current version 727.
BTW Backend looks great apart from image for template installer is still missing. The backend management works for files, pity we can't get to see them at the front end.

Hi.

you write:
Quote
Please select an existing template in the Template Manager

select an existing template in the template manager("table"-template is not part or RSG2 anymore so use the "semantic" or any other uploaded template).

the template manager in the latest build is "work in progress" right now. so you have to change the default template in the database directly.

greets

At the risk of being derided by my superior Joomlarians, pray tell, how do I do that. Delving into mysql is not my forte but I'm prepared to tinker with it with guidance. I have mysqldumper to brows with if that's any help.

Hi Andy

The latest nightly build has the ability to select a different template. You can download it tomorrow.

Managing to go through the motions to upload a template but doesn't appear in template manager.
Set one of the listed ones as default but tick disappears on save.
See image.

So a tick appears if you set a default template ?

What do you mean if you say "on save" ?

Sorry, I mislead you.
Not 'save' but when I check a default template I clicked the Default button. a tick appeared against the template then disappears if I go out of it and back in later.

If it's meant to be like Joomla templates I assume it's meant to stay visible to show which one you are using.

Just waiting for my Joomla to install SVN 734 but out of interest when I uninstall a previous version I'm getting this:-
Quote
Warning: com_uninstall(JPATH_RSGALLERY2_ADMIN/language/english.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /share/storage/01/fr/frizzell/nmids/administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/uninstall.rsgallery2.php on line 19

Warning: com_uninstall(): Failed opening 'JPATH_RSGALLERY2_ADMIN/language/english.php' for inclusion (include_path='.') in /share/storage/01/fr/frizzell/nmids/administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/uninstall.rsgallery2.php on line 19
_RSGALLERY_UNINSTALL_OK

Not sure if that is any use to you.
Ah install of SVN successful, will get back to you shortly with latest observations.

Okay here we go.
A degree of success today, thanks.
upload of SVN 734 successful
Ticking one of the templates in the Templates manager > Templates, selects a template and that remains ticked even after leaving page and returning to it.

Template Installer icon still missing though.

After selecting semantic.....(template 2 in list) I went to the front end and clicked Gallery. WooHoo Smiley It works! although something doesn't quite seem right it's there and clickable and the slide show works well.

Gallery displays :-
3 random images
3 Latest images
and 26 thumbnail images over three pages cleanly and as expected but the test gallery info box indicates that the size is 5 images Huh

Problem with uploading new templates however.
I uninstalled the two templates I'd installed as they'd ended up in the normal Joomla template manager Huh

went once again into the RSgallery2 template manager and selected template installer etc. chose superclean and clicked upload and install. It just ended up back in the Joomla template manager again.

That's as far as I've got at this ungodly hour of the day. I will continue to play and upload another folder of images (back end batch upload) and will try some front end uploads too.
Thanks for your efforts, I realise that we have a way to go yet but it's getting there! Grin
View test gallery at http://ccgi.frizzell.plus.com/nmids/

EDIT:
Just tried front end upload. Unless I'm missing something it won't allow it. I'm logged on with super administrator status. No go, that's okay for now as most of the galleries will be multi image done in the back end but front end uploads would be useful in future. Dare I say front end batch uploads???
