Hi,

This is my second attempt at trying to resolve what I know is an easy issue to fix but for some reason I am not getting the tiny details needed to fix it. I sure hope someone can provide the details to get me going.

The title of my post is the error message I get when I try to install a template for rsgallery. Please read on.

I am using Joomla 1.5, have rsgallery2 2.00.0, (SVN 802).
The rsgallery Semantic template is up and working and now I am wanting to try out other rsgallery templates.
I tried to install smoothgallery from the rsgallery website, from the nightly builds.

I get an error message when I try to upload zip file from directory: ERRORNOTFINDXMLSETUPFILE. It is printed out that way in red.

Someone did tell me that they had the same issue and had to unpack the zip file and it worked. So, base on that, I did unpack it. But there are some details that I need......

1. unpack it into which directory? A directory on my local machine or on my website?
2. When I unpack it, I still do not see any XML Setup file, after all didn;t the error message say that it could not find an XML Setup file?

Within the rsgallery component - template manager, there are three ways to install the new template:

#1 - Upload package file - (provide a location from which to upload it.) I tried this and I get the message in my post title.

#2 - Install from directory - (Provide a directory from which to install) I tried this and it says "Provide a package directory". Huh? I thought I did, what is it complaining about???

#3 - Install from URL - (Proivde a url location and install from there.) I tried this by creating directories on my website in several places and i received several results. One, I got the message "Provide a package directory" or "not authorized to access".

So, darn it. The instructions associated with installing this template are just plain not adequate and don';t provid ethe exact details of what is needed. Can someone provide the missing info???

I have foraged the forums both in rsgallery and outside and I see other people have seen the same issue, but I see no responses as to what is the solution. I know it has to be something easy, cuz I know this stuff works.

Can someone please provide some info to help me move along my journey on this. It would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks...elefunt!
