interesting.

what is the name of the zip file your opening?  if it has funny characters, that could be a problem.

I think I have Found a Solution - Workaround.
I too have been having problems uploading files...
Here is the Solution:
I have a Mavrica Digital Camera
The File Save Format, Example: MVC-001S.JPG
I have Tried Zipping off Multiple of these files into one file... IE test.zip
But Upload Fails.
Here is why, I suspect because most of the systems out there using this package are Linux, there is that character fight between upercase and lowercase formatting...
all I did was rename my files using all lowercase, and packaged then into a test.zip file, and bang.. walla, It worked.

I only have about 6 More Gig of Files to do this way... Anyone wanna help.. LOL
PLEASE Make A Fix for this..
Hope this helps...

Hi there,

For the error
Quote
Error message PCLZIP_ERR_MISSING_FILE (-4) : Missing archive file \'\'

are a number of possibilities:
1. Your temporary uploaddir is not present or not writable(this will be solved in next version, it always stores the tempfiles in \"/media\")
2. Your ZIP-file is too big. In php.ini is an upload limit set. (upload_max_filesize, usually 2M). This will also be solved in next version, it will warn you about file size.

The uppercase-lowercase is still puzzling me. I will look into that.

I got the same problem guys but here\'s the catch.

1. I got 50MB upload limit.
2. timeout is set to 120 seconds (just in case)
3. File names are as D1234567.JPG (doubt thats it, i can understand spaces though if any).
4. Works on ZIPs smaller than 7-8MB.. but not higher.
5. multiple single file uploads work fine.

Hi,

there are alot of program that can handle batch rename. ACDsee, Microsoft Office Picture Manager or try googling for it. This saves alot of time Smiley.

djtremors,

it\'s a definitely a PHP setting limitation.  there are four settings that should be checked:

max_execution_time
max_input_time
post_max_size
upload_max_filesize

max execution time could be the culprit.

a large zip file can take quite a bit of time in execution: first the zip file needs to be extracted, then each image resized twice (display and thumb) and the original copied over.

Jonah,

Great news, it worked. Sorry I didn\'t notice the FAQ had it. Doh!

I think it\'s the max_post_size as it was only 8MB which is what i found was happening, I didn\'t even know there was such a setting (damn, gotta remove all those remarks to see the php.ini file clearly Wink ).

I don\'t have any case problems and it doesn\'t make any sense to have the problems anyway unless some parts of RSG is doing a strtolower() and others aren\'t..

great work guys.
