Have installed RSGallery2 1.10.4 component with Joomla 1.07 and cannot see how a registered user can create catagories. You cannot upload images or create a galleries without first creating a category.

This all works fine from the admin panel where admin can create categorires.

Also I am getting the following error when saving the configuration. \'Error Saving Configuration\'. Is this the cause of the above?

Hi there,

Did you goto the configuration area and enabled user uploads in the tab \"user uploads\".

If you do this a link to my Galleries should appear in the frontend. From there you can create categories and upload files.

Let us know how if you run into trouble.

Hi Ronald,
Yes, (it was on as default as I recall) but as I have said, I get an error when saving the config so this is probably the root cause of the problem.

The funny thing is, if you press save, it will genererate an error message, but it saves your changes. We are working on that.

Try setting user uploads to no, save and then set them back to yes and save again.

Ignore the error message.

Let me know if this works.

No. This still does not work.

Here is the screen I get under \'My Galleries\'.

Where should the \'Create Category\' button be? Should there be a Category tab?

Perhaps it is confusing but you are looking at it. It seems we interchange the term category and gallery. The create gallery page creates categories/galleries. After that you can go into the tab My Images and add images to your newly created gallery/category.

Perhaps we should make this consistent. The idea behind this is a gallery consists of categories filled with images.
So Going to My Galleries should reveal two tabs, named My Categories and My Images. We will look into this, as the current situation clearly contributes to some confusion.

Thanks, I now see how. IMO this does need to be less confusing, Category/Gallery ! Perhaps its just me butI\'m sure my users will have the same problem.

However this is great software and I thank you for your efforts.B)

Sorry to be a pain but now I can only create one gallery/category as a User!
If I create a second new gallery the first disappears from the selection box and all images from the first are merged with the second!
This only happens from the users pages. It all appears to work fine and dandy from the Joomla Admin screen.

Also if I creating a second gallery with the existing gallery selected as \'top gallery\' (can you nest gallerties?) they both dissapear from the users gallery listing, however they are visible in the Joomla Admin screen.

Note: When browsing images in the Joomla Admin screen it shows all images but does not identify which user they belong to! This would be helpful.

I hadn\'t tried this yet, but it appears to be the same situation as above bug. And yes you can nest galleries.

Ok, we\'ll look into this.
