I have some images that have height much bigger then width (337*989). I use proportional thumbnails and the width of a thumb is, in my case, 100 px, but height is 293 px! It really messes up the gallery thumbnails page Sad
I think there should be an option for the height of thumbnails also, not only width.

Denis,

We'll leave the smart classification up to the users, because that's a matter of personal preference.
For people who don't like the proportional thumbs, the option Square thumb is available through the backend.

This will produce thumbs with the height and width exactly the same.

Good luck,

Hi,
Exactly, the with/height can be improve.
I would be a good if we can fix the maximum size for width and height.
For example, we can fix 30 pixels at max and choose proportional: horizontal image 200x300 is resized in 20x30 and a vertical 300x200 is resized in 30x20.

I think that it is a very important  and essential improvement.

Thanks for this good component.

My workflow has ALWAYS produced 'square' files
whether they be thumbs, resized or full sized images.
It makes sense not to have to rely on programming
preferences of other application suppliers/providers.
----best wishes, Robert

I agree, that should clean up the gallery display structure.
