Hi again,

I'm using RSGallery2 1.12.2 Alpha (Nightly build: 2007-02-11.svn583),
however it's called SVN: 578 in the Joomla components backend^^.

Yesterday I uploaded some .zip files via Batch-Upload.
The images were copied to the different folders (display, original, thumb) but had some extension mistakes.

I will try to explain...

Image abc123.jpg from the .zip file was copied to:
joomla/images/rsgallery/display/ and named abc123.jpg.jpg
... joomla/images/rsgallery/thumb/ and named abc123.jpg.jpg
... joomla/images/rsgallery/original/ and named abc123.jpg

Why does abc123 got a doubled .jpg in the end of it's filename in display/ and thumb/ ?

Benny,

That's just the way it stores the images.
Nothing more to it.
So they are NOT mistakes!!!

Cheers,

Of course, I know... but it doesn't make sense does it?!

The reason is to retain original image names.  The problem stems if someone uploads test.gif and test.jpg.  What should the thumbnail be called?  Well, test.jpg.  But how to distinguish between the thumb for test.gif and that for test.jpg?

So the most straight forward and robust solution is to keep the original filename completely intact and append .jpg.

Due to time constraints, I have taken a step back from RSGallery2.  In the event of an emergency, you will need to PM me.

Ok, that makes sense!
Now I understand... Thank you for your attention! Smiley

It's very nice from that you explain it in such a simply way
so that even "noobies" like me can get it^^
