Hi

In the latest svn checkout of galllery2, it works fine on my dev machine (php 5 and apache 2)

When i deploy my joomla install, which is working fine on the office server (also php5 and apache 2)
to the production environment, (php4 and apache 2) evertything alredy in the db displays perfectly on the front end

However when i click on upload or upload batch tabs in the component control panel I dont even get to try and upload
an image...the site just gives a 500 error.

All the neccessary directories are writable and ive increased the memory limit to 100mb, the script timeout length to 1000 seconds
and safemode is off....

I cant have a look at the apache logs as its a hosted enviroment....

please does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Kind Regards
Jon

Ok an update on this...comparing pnp.ini files its probably got to do with allow_url_fopen being off?

can anyone tell me whether this could be the case....?
turning it off on my localhost doesnt seem t make a difference...
however I was reading up on joomla and they were saying having this variable off can severely mess
with componenents. Is this the case with RsGallery?

Ive also tried re-installing the gallery through joomla in case it was a permissions issue and the user apache is running under
didnt have access to some scripts

Ok ...ive checked all the permissions

ive reinstalled the component through joomla so all the com directories are created by the user php is running under
allow_url_fuploads is on

my memory limit , max post size and script timeout are all as they should be.

still i get a 500 close error if i attempt to manage images , click on upload image or batch upload

allow_url_fopen is not necessary for RSG2.

You mentioned gallery2... but I'm assuming you menat RSGallery2, correct?  Gallery2 is a different product.  Smiley

What SVN are you using?  The trunk or?...

Sorry I Meant RsGallery2 (long night)

yes the checkout was from the trunk....revision 18 i think...as i said it was working perfectly on my dev setup and our office dev servers (php5)....but on the hosted environment (php4) on image management upload or batch upload it gives a 500 error...

i have checked the directories that rs gallery 2 uses to check that the executing script has the correct permissions and reinstalled the component through joomla but the problem keeps persisting

If it would help id be happy to post up the relevant server environment variables and error log?

Ok ... I am so so sorry for what appears to be a waste of your time....it looks like a permissions issue....on the 3rd delete and reinstall of the component its now working great... I hang my head in shame.

Thanks very much for a great gallery component and for taking the time out to deal with my problem...
