RSGallery2 Display Plugin
Hi,
Does the RSGallery2 Display Plugin work with J1.5 nightly build? I am trying to use if but just get the text {rsg2_display: 9, 3} displayed rather than the gallery.
I could of course have the wrong code, as I said I am using {rsg2_display: 9, 3} ie {rsg2_display: "GUID", "template ID"} is that correct?
Cheers in advance,
Eoin

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
The template needs to be the name of the template.
For example
{rsg2_display: 5,Semantic}
Where 5 is gallery ID and "Semantic" is template name.
I want to know whether it is possible to display 1 particular picture from a gallery using this method...

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
Pedders,
Can you confirm what version of J! you are using? When I put that code in content rather than displaying the gallery it just displays the text {rsg2_display: 9,Semantic} (9 being my gallery id).

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
I worked out what was going wrong.
There is a conflict between this plugin and the plugin from mXcomments 1.06 (
http://www.visualclinic.fr/
). When their plugin is enabled instead of displaying the gallery when you add the text {rsg2_display: 9,Semantic} the text is displayed on the page.
I have also posted this conflict on their forum.

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
Its not only Mxcomment that conflicts. I have the same problem (code showing up instead of image) and I have no MXcomment installed yet. I am using RT Populus theme and am trying to place the gallery inside a "slider" component. Its not working.

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
Same here. I installed the nightly DL of RSGallery2 and the nightly build of the Display module (running on Ubuntu 8.4 server, PHP5, Joomla 1.5.3) and it does not work: the script is just displayed as text.

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
Hi, I just recognized that earlier I`ve answered the wrong thread:
The same problem @ my site: installed the actual version of RSGallery, the content plugin only renders the plugin text.
My configuration: Joomla 1.5.3 + DOCMan
Any ideas? thx

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
I am running Joomla 1.0.15 and rsgallery 1.0.14 and I am trying to use the display plugin (version 0.8 for joomla 1.0 series) and every time I do it results in the whole page going white, no content at all. If I unpublish the mambot or go into the content and remove the referance to it, then the page displays properly again.
I am using the format {rsg2_display: GID, Template} I an trying to do it like this, {rsg2_display: 6, slideshow_parth} but I have tried other templates as well.
EDIT: Just an update, I have upgraded the plugin to version 1.2 and 2.0 via the nightly builds SVN and neither of those versions work either. I get the same result, a blank white page, no content at all.
Any ideas on this?
EDIT: Updated to the latest nightly build and tried again, still no progress. I should mention, I am running PHP4 on both my test server and production server. I do have the ability to switch to PHP5 on both machines, perhaps I will try that and see what happens.
Edit: Well, upgraded the server(s) to PHP5 and that hasnt helped me either. I have searched the forums for similar issues occuring with the plugin but have not found anything.

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
Well, I installed the site on another server and I had no issues using the plugin on the same version of Joomla with the same version of rsgallery.
So, perhaps this is a server issues causing it. I doubt it's a memory allocation limit as I have read on joomla.org because I already have the memory allocation limit set to 64MB.
Any other ideas on what causes the "White screen of death" as it's called on Joomla's main site?
EDIT:
Another thing I didnt think to mention, but I am using ijoomla magazine on this site, and I found another issue here on the forums where an incompatiblity was found between rsgallery and ijoomla magazine due to the UTF8 files.
So far I havent been able to repair this problem. But if anyone else here uses ijoomla magazine and has fixed any issues with the two scripts working together, I would greatly appreciate any info you could provide.

Re: RSGallery2 Display Plugin
This is driving me absolutely insane. I can't get the display plugin to work at all either. All I see is the code. I've just downloaded and installed the nightly build of the plugin, and of RSG2 (and the plugin is enabled), and I can't make this danged thing work!
