RSGallery2 1.14.0 released
Written by Ronald Smit
Wednesday, 14 November 2020

Today we released RSGallery2 1.14.0. This is a big step towards reaching beta stage. It contains a lot of improvements over the previous versions and also compatibility with Joomla 1.5 RC3 has drastically improved. We consider this release as the jumping board towards stability.

The plan is to do some serious bugfixing this release and if necessary release 1.14.1, containing bugfixes. From there, we will fork to a seperate J1.0.x and a J1.5 version. This enables us to get the component completely ready for Joomla 1.5, without using the Legacy plugin needed. We will inform you about the future of the J1.0.x version in a later stage.

Anyway, we hope you enjoy this release, as said it contains a lot of improvements and is pretty stable. Also most of the plugins and modules have been upgraded to work with this version.

So jump over to our download page and grab a copy. As always, we will be in the Forums to take your questions and help you out anyway we can.

Have fun,

The Development Team

Open Source Does Matter ...

The Joomla! core team recently publicaly stated that Joomla! 1.0 and 1.5 are released under the pure GPL.  They also confirmed that as derivitive works, extensions must also be released under the GPL.

The RSGallery2 Team applauds the Joomla! core team for taking this stance.  As stated in our FAQ, we love open source software and believe open source benefits everyone involved; developers, companies, clients and end users.  We see this move as leading to an increase in higher quality extensions.

Long Live Open Source!
